Management Development and Leadership Development in Sydney

Leadership Development using 360 Degree Feedback reporting is common practice in our Sydney management development clients and our clients for management development across Australia. There are many benefits to starting a Leadership Development Program for any individual, using an appropriate questionnaire. One of the critical success factors is the process of how the feedback is given to the individual and what they do with the results. Leadership Coaching is an effective way of developing leaders for our Sydney management development clients and Australian management development clients.

Corporate Learning has experience using feedback tools such as 360 degree and self-reporting questionnaires over many years with our Sydney management development clients and in management development across Australia. We use a variety of questionnaires and help our clients select the most appropriate tool for their needs. Or we will use a client's own feedback tool.

A critical step in the process following the feedback of the 360 degree report, is that the individual prepares a comprehensive Development Plan. We assist our clients in this process to select suitable activities to meet their needs, either in the present role or in preparation for future roles.

Features of an effective 360 degree feedback activity from our Sydney management development and Australian management development programs are:

  • The process is a development opportunity (rather than performance assessment) and is not seen as threatening to the individual.
  • Identifies specific development needs for each individual.
  • Provides feedback to the individual from "above", i.e. their boss, "below" i.e. direct reports, and "sideways", i.e. peers and possibly internal customers; thus feedback is received from "360 degrees" around the individual.
  • Questionnaires are completed confidentially and anonymously to ensure honest and accurate feedback.
  • An experienced external person receives/accesses the completed questionnaires, compiles the reports and gives the feedback to each individual privately.
  • The report provides an opportunity for the individual to compare his/her own responses with others who responded about them
  • The report highlights an individual's strengths as well as areas for development
  • All participating individuals are properly briefed about the program
  • Ideally the questionnaire is completed on a web site for ease of collating the responses. This assists our Australian management development clients outside of Sydney but is also convenient for Sydney management development clients
  • The feedback is used to prepare a Development Plan which details activities that the individual will undertake to improve performance in their current role and/or prepare them for a future role
